Beer Style: Bourbon-barrel aged Imperial Milk Stout
Everything you love about The Temptress, but boozier and nicely-aged. One could say she's the "cougar" of milk stouts. Hints of vanilla, oak, toffee and caramel intertwine for a boozy, dangerously smooth treat.
Adelbert’s founder and brewmaster, Scott Hovey, noted, "It was an exciting process to collaborate with Kim Clarke on this exclusive IPA. We are extremely proud of the fruits of our labor and excited to share it with more people via bottles."
Gypsy IPA was fermented for three weeks in the fermenter followed by four weeks of bottle conditioning before its release. This is the first batch of the collaboration ale going into bottles. Gypsy IPA bottles will be available at all retailers currently selling Adelbert's Brewery ales. These stores include Spec's, Whole Foods, Central Market, HEB and a wide array of local craft beer and liquor stores.
"Since there is so much competition of hop forward beers in the market, Christine Celis and I agreed we would not release a Belgian IPA if it wasn't brewed to the high standards we set for ourselves," added Hovey. "The Gypsy Belgian IPA is as amazing in bottles as it is in draft. We are extremely pleased with the final product and excited to offer this fantastically smooth IPA alongside our other Belgian-style ales we produce."
CompositionMalt: Imported two-row malts
Hops: Whole flower Citra, Chinook, Simcoe and Mosaic hops
FlavorThis dangerously delicious recipe features often subtle, but sometimes assertive signatures of American hop varieties. Look for: Citra: heavy citrus aroma, fruity flavor; Chinook: grapefruit, resinous pine; Simcoe: dry, piney; and Mosaic: earthy and mildly floral, with notes of sweet citrus and spice.
